Providence too much for Monmouth
U.S. Virgin Islands

Providence led from the beginning and never looked back as they beat up on the overmatch Hawks. Many thought this would be a trap game for the Friars looking ahead to Kansas, but they dismissed this thought early building a 53-23 lead by halftime. The Friars were lead by LaDontae Henton who scored 21 points. Carson Desrosiers also had a good game for the Friars scoring 12 points, but did not miss from the field. Kadeem Batts also had a good game coming off the bench scoring 15 points and adding 7 rebounds.

Up next for the Friars is the 11th ranked Kansas Jayhawks who enter the game 2-0.
