Providence, RI -
Before this game, if you asked the state of Rhode Island who the best team in the state was you may have gotten several different answers. The answer is now clear after the Friars use lights out shooting to sink the Rams at the Dunkin Donuts Center in front of a sold out crowd of 12,500. Providence shot a blazing hot 60% from the field and forced URI into 16 turnovers. The Friars led 44-22 at the half and never let up. The Friars had five players in double figures including Vincent Council who had 12 points and 10 assists. "I really wanted this game. A huge rivalry game at home. There isn't anything else quite like it. Now we gotta put it behind us and move on." Providence moves to 6-2 and one step closer to Big East play. Providence will host a rare Sunday match up with Hofstra University once examinations are completed.
