Providence, RI -

The Friars despite struggles from the free throw line down the stretch, hang on to win a very important game. Providence was able to control Louisville throughout the game only falling behind once by two points. The Friars were helped by strong performances out of LaDantae Henton and Kadeem Batts who scored 13 and 18 points respectively. This improves the Friars record to 18-7
(8-5). It also drops the Cardinals to a surprising 13-13 (6-7). For Providence the picture also becomes a little bit clearer. They are still 1.5 games behind the Big East leader Cincinatti, but they have a matchup with the Bearcats next week. If Providence can win a few more games they will certainly have a chance to win the Big East. They're next game is Monday against a Georgetown team that is struggling.
