Once again the defense for Providence shines in an important win for the Friars. Providence was able to make seven threes in the game and create 14 turnovers to get the victory. It was also senior night for the Friars and even though their only senior is Vincent Council it was a very emotional win for the Friars. The win gives them their first 20 win season since 2004, but does not assure them of anything else. Providence who is now 20-10 (10-8) still must do some damage in the Big East tournament to get an invite to the Big Dance. Providence will play Temple in the second round of the Big East Tournament after receiving a bye.
